Description:

Develop your knowledge, ability, and ambition to shape the future of an organisation and your career. Our MBA is a truly transformative leadership experience.

Creating a new line of leaders

Our MBA is much more than a management programme. It's a journey of self-discovery and transformation and an opportunity to:

  • enhance your self-awareness
  • integrate and apply your learning
  • develop your consulting skills
  • contribute to, and lead, multicultural teams

The next generation of leaders need to be adaptable and resilient to change. With our MBA, you’ll learn to think and behave differently. You'll question established norms and search for new answers.

Our MBA programme offers you a carefully structured, immersive experience to equip you to 'challenge today, change tomorrow'. In our friendly and supportive learning environment, we'll prepare you for jobs of the future, technology that hasn't been invented, and opportunities we don't yet know about.

With our MBA, you will develop the capabilities you need to be competitive in any industry or entrepreneurial venture, honing in on your leadership, critical thinking and communication skills.

Your leadership journey has three key phases

Strengthen your management fundamentals, develop your global perspective, and integrate your learning with our 13 core modules.

You can personalise your MBA and choose from six electives during phase two of your leadership journey. This offers you more scope to align your learning experience with your individual career objectives.

Your MBA modules are outlined below for the September 2022 course start date.

Phase one: Develop your core skills

Start your journey by developing a comprehensive understanding of business and management that makes the MBA the preferred route to success for the leaders and entrepreneurs of the future.

You will study:

  • Accounting and Finance
  • Organisations and People Management
  • Projects, Programmes and Operations Management
  • Marketing
  • Strategic Management
  • Transitions in the Global Economy

You will then integrate and apply your learning with the Business Awareness Experience.

You’ll work in project teams to practise and consolidate your understanding of core business skills. You'll do this through:

  • a time-bound series of intensive lectures
  • industry visits
  • interactive workshops

Delivered in Newcastle, you'll benefit from our connections with business and industry.

Phase two: Prepare for global business

Prepare for the key challenges of business in the 21st century and the changing landscape of the future of work. Choose two electives to develop your skillset and knowledge of emerging business trends and thinking.

You will study:

  • Business Analysis for Decision Making
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Corporate Social Responsibility

And choose two electives, one from each group, to suit your interests:

Group one

  • Finance and Investment
  • Leading Organisational Change
  • Strategic Human Resource Management

Group two

  • Digital Business
  • Emerging Economies: Challenges and Opportunities
  • Managing for Innovation

You can also replace one of your elective module choices with an international elective overseas at one of our international partners.

You will then integrate and apply your learning with the Personal Development Experience.

You will hone your skills as a leader and a team player in a risk-free environment. Through a series of exercises, you will embrace new challenges that will lead to real personal growth, as you learn from one-to-one feedback provided by practitioners.

Phase three: Demonstrate your impact

Apply your MBA learning through a range of projects, enabling you to investigate and make an original contribution to issues of current concern to business.

Boardroom Challenge

Leverage your new knowledge and leadership skills from the Business Analysis for Decision Making module and take this opportunity to start to think like a director.

Gain an understanding of what it means to present a thorough business case to corporate executives. It’s more than education and training. It’s about developing that language, positioning, value and confidence that makes you ‘boardroom ready’.

Management Consultancy Project

Work with a live client on this team-based consultancy project. You can complete this project with a UK or international company, depending on international travel restrictions.

Individual Project

Apply your learning to a corporate consultancy project, an entrepreneurial business plan or a research project.
