Description:

The Economics and Management of Arts and Cultural Activities programme (curriculum in Economics and Administration of Arts and Culture is offered in English) trains you to understand the nature and processes of cultural production, interconnecting the professional worlds of management and culture and exploring the evolution of the national, European and global artistic and cultural panorama. You can also get work experience before graduation thanks to the degree's curricular internship, which you can carry out in Italy or abroad. You will also be pleased to know that the QS World University Rankings by Subject ranks Ca' Foscari in the top 150 universities for Archaeology and History and the top 200 for Economics & Econometrics.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

This two-year program integrates expertise, research methodologies, and professional approaches from the humanities and the economic and managerial sectors. The curriculum in Economics and administration of arts and culture is entirely taught in English. During your studies you are encouraged to carry out a study period abroad. Thanks to a curricular internship, you acquire work experience before completing your studies.

  • Contemporary art

  • Elements of theatre and live arts production

  • Museology & public spaces architecture

LAUNCHING YOUR CAREER

As a graduate, you'll be ready to pursue a career as a manager responsible for the planning and organisation of cultural activities and events with companies, cultural institutions and government agencies. Possible career opportunities await you in the following fields:

  • Cultural projects management 

  • Conservation and enhancement of the arts 

  • Communications

  • Arts management

  • Economic consulting

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND ADMISSION

To be eligible for admission, you must satisfy certain curricular requirements. You, therefore, need to have:

  • completed a bachelor's degree in Cultural Heritage; or Disciplines of the Visual Arts; or Music; or equivalent and got specific credits in specific disciplines
  • OR completed a minimum of 42 ECTS in the arts, history and culture sector as well as the economics and management sector
  • a certified B2-level knowledge of English for the Economics and administration of arts and culture curriculum.

In addition:

  • a Teaching Committee will evaluate your undergraduate transcript of records to determine if you possess the necessary background knowledge to be admitted.

FEES AND FUNDING

Depending on your nationality, the fees range from 700 to 2157 Euros. 

As a public university in Europe, Ca' Foscari not only keeps tuition fees low, but also provides targeted financial aid for high-achieving international students.

Ca' Foscari University offers high-achieving international students renewable scholarship packages of various sizes, ranging from 6,500 euro a year for bachelor's students to 8,000 euro a year for master's students.

These scholarship packages are designed to offer support for the full duration of an award-winner's degree. To be eligible to apply, you will need a minimum 8.5/10 CGPA. Complete information about the requisites at the dedicated webpage.

The regional government also offers financial aid for international students from low-income families for which you can apply after enrolment.
