Geosciences and engineering are of daily importance for society’s demands. The search for energy, mitigating climate change, and developing relevant technology to improve the well-being of people around the world are challenges that professionals need to be prepared to confront. The University of Stavanger is at the forefront of petroleum engineering and geosciences education.
The MSc programme in Energy, Reservoir and Earth Sciences, developed in close collaboration with the petroleum industry, is uniquely focused on the blending of geosciences and engineering for the specific needs of petroleum exploration and production.
A graduate of this program will be able to solve geoscientific problems by integrating surface and subsurface data and to integrate such information with petroleum engineers. In addition, they will be able to formulate strategies and will have the key fundamental knowledge to develop, manage, and implement technology. Graduates are qualified for a broad range of positions within the petroleum industry and other industries where both engineering and geosciences are applied.
During the study period there are possibilities for international student exchanges at one of our partner universities in Europe, Scandinavia, USA or Australia.
