An exciting opportunity to study Geology, Mineral Resources and Sustainable Mining in a two-year master’s programme focusing on Geosciences.
The programme is co-taught with Mining Engineering master’s in excellent infrastructure in close connection to the mining industry.
The Geosciences master's programme at the Oulu Mining School offers education in bedrock and surficial geology supported by geochemical approaches, including the study of mineral deposits within their geological context, providing a sound basis for mineral exploration and sustainable resource use.
Through a combination of coursework and hands‑on work, the programme supports career pathways in geosciences and research, while also addressing geological questions relevant to northern environments.
All students majoring in Geology get excellent skills and understanding in the different aspects of geosciences. They gain a profound understanding of the technological, geological, financial, environmental and social aspects of sustainable mining.
