Description:

The Classical Musical Instrumental Performance (Oboe) programme aims to train highly skilled and versatile oboists with advanced technical and musical proficiency, focusing on orchestral and chamber music. Students deepen their stylistic interpretation through historical and theoretical studies and develop tools for independent analysis of complex works. After completing their studies, graduates in Oboe MA will be able to:

  • PEO#1 Demonstrate advanced performance skills in a wide range of musical styles on the oboe, with historical and stylistic awareness, a high level of comprehensive knowledge of technical, musical, orchestral and chamber music repertoire.
  • PEO#2 Apply music theory, comprehensive historical knowledge, and analytical tools to deepen their understanding of complex musical works and enhance their interpretative choices.
  • PEO#3 Use advanced methods and learning strategies to approach challenging repertoire, enabling continuous artistic growth and self-directed learning.
  • PEO#4 Graduates will gain skills in arts management and in music education presentations.

Programme structure:

The graduates of the Master’s course will acquire:

1. Mastery of instrumental techniques and the ability to meet the specific performance requirements of the oboe in solo, chamber music and orchestral repertoire.

2. The capability to understand the specific requirements of orchestral and chamber music.

3. The ability to recognize and interpret different styles and perform them accurately.

4. The ability to perform on stage with a piano accompanist and other musicians demonstrating professional ethics, behaviour and communication.

5. The comprehensive knowledge required of a professional musician, including specific fields of music theory and history.

6. The methods to acquire a deeper understanding of theoretical and historical materials, as well as analytical tools.

7. A thorough knowledge of arts management and dissemination of music.

Career opportunities:

Work in professional orchestras or build a freelance career as a soloist and chamber musician.

Graduates will be equipped to engage in academic research within their specialization and pursue further studies at the doctoral level if desired.
