The aim of the Classical Musical Instrument Performance (Trumpet) programme is to acquire a higher level instrumental repertory in classical music; a deeper knowledge of the characteristics and requirements of the solo, orchestral and chamber music. 

The programme focuses on the awareness of the appropriate performance style for different genres and periods, the study of specific theoretical and historical material, the acquisition of methods for understanding complex music, the use of analytical tools, and a specific and comprehensive knowledge of the disciplines (theoretical and historical) related to the performing arts.

The graduates will be prepared to do research in their given specialization, and to take part in further studies at the doctoral level.

Programme educational objectives:

The programme aims to train highly skilled and versatile clarinettists with advanced technical and musical proficiency, focusing on solo, orchestral and chamber music. Students deepen their stylistic interpretation through historical and theoretical studies and develop tools for independent analysis of complex works. After completing their studies, graduates in Violin MA will be able to:

• PEO#1 Demonstrate advanced proficiency in clarinet performance across a wide range of musical styles, underpinned by a historical and stylistic awareness; a comprehensive, high-level knowledge of solo, orchestral and chamber music repertoire and a wide range of technical tools.
• PEO#2 Apply the comprehensive knowledge of music theory, music history and analytical tools acquired during their studies to deepen their understanding of complex musical works and enhance their interpretative choices.
• PEO#3 Use advanced methods and learning strategies to approach challenging repertoire, enabling continuous artistic growth and self-directed learning.
• PEO#4 Graduates will gain skills in arts management and in music education presentations.

Student Outcomes:

The graduates of the Master’s course will acquire:

1. Mastery of instrumental techniques and the ability to meet the specific performance requirements of the clarinet in solo, chamber music and orchestral repertoire.
2. The capability to understand the specific requirements of orchestral and chamber music.
3. The ability to recognize and interpret different styles and perform them accurately.
4. The ability to perform on stage with a piano accompanist and other musicians demonstrating professional ethics, behaviour and communication.
5. The comprehensive knowledge required of a professional musician, including specific fields of music theory and history.
6. The methods to acquire a deeper understanding of theoretical and historical materials, as well as analytical tools.
7. A thorough knowledge of arts management and dissemination of music.

Work in professional orchestras or build a freelance career as a soloist and chamber musician.
