We live in the golden age of information. Every day, we are bombarded with hundred times more information than ever before. We communicate using high-end technologies: visual, audio and written.
Naturally, with the exponential growth of the field, the job market needs professionals who can solve the challenges and possess the skills and competences to manage the complex world of communications.
Bachelor in Communication Studies and Information Management Technologies at KTU will prepare you to work in multicultural business, government, or public sector organisations. You will be able to create and manage quality content using the latest technology.
This is the first 3 years’ bachelors programme in Lithuania, which is run in conjunction with the University of Twente (Netherlands). In this programme, you will have the opportunity to study at the University of Twente for one semester and obtain a certificate attesting to this.
Graduates will have achieved skills of communication and analysis, be able to create effective communicative content, be knowledgeable of the newest information and communication technology (ICT), which they creatively apply during the processes of communication as well as for personal and work purposes.
This study programme is unique due to much of the focus being given to the technological tools of communication: systems of content management, website management, communication analysis, quantitative and qualitative IT tools, tools of social media data management, visual (photography, illustration, video) and textual interfaces, dynamics, online publication of information (textual and visual) based on the latest UX (user experience) research, and for the purposes of developing practical skills and entrepreneurship.
The study programme largely relies on a project-based education process, during which students develop the idea from a concept to a product.
As a member of the ECIU (European Consortium of Innovative Universities), KTU has a study agreement for the Twin Programme in Communication Science. This programme opens up a possibility to study for a semester in one of the most innovative universities of Europe: University of Twente in the Netherlands. During the fifth semester students may choose to study subjects related to communication in the University of Twente. A certificate is provided upon completion of these international studies.
Some of the study subjects include: Going Viral, Damage Control, Facilitating Technological Innovations, The Privacy Paradox. There is also a possibility to stay in KTU and design an individual study plan.
