Description:

The complexity of processes in the food industry requires the training of interdisciplinary specialists.

They should have sound business knowledge in the areas of product development, product commercialisation, product provision, innovation management and marketing. They should also be proficient in the application of food technology. This includes, for example, the development, production and preservation of food.

Enterprises need to be competitive. To do this, they need new product ideas. These must be realised on an industrial scale. And finally, they must be marketed successfully. The expertise for this is imparted in the Industrial Engineering Life Sciences study programme through the interdisciplinary interface between the two specialist fields of food technology and business. This is often an essential component of the requirement profiles of junior managers in the food business.

  • You are interested in taking on a long-term management role in the food industry.

Your conditions:

  • Alternatively, you have a professional appointment (without a university entrance qualification) in a field related to the study programme.
  • You will need an 8-week internship in the food industry or a related professional field (evidence must be provided by the 4th semester).
  • With a language certificate for German (C1) or equivalent, you can take a course in German for all modules.
  • If you have a language certificate for English (B2) or equivalent, you can take a course in English for all modules.
  • If you have both language certificates, you can combine English and German modules as you wish.
