Making the impossible possible. Master the art of illusion and take your VFX skills to the highest level.
Our Visual Effects Production (Compositing) Master´s degree has two pathways: Compositing and 3D, so you can choose the area of VFX that you would like to build a career in. You’ll initially follow a common path with the first two modules, then take either the Compositing or 3D route for the next two modules, before coming back together for the final project modules.
Visual Effects Artists create computer generated imagery (CGI) and effects, including 3D visuals, that would otherwise be too dangerous, expensive or impossible to film. VFX is not going anywhere; almost every image we see has it in some form – for example, if the image was not captured in its totality in one pass with the camera and consists of two or more live action elements, or it has been either wholly or partly generated on the computer.
Compositing (2D VFX) is an essential part of the VFX pipeline in films, TV and commercials. It entails seamless and photorealistic combining of various live action elements, and sometimes CG elements, that may have been filmed in different locations and in different lighting conditions. The Compositor’s job is to combine them in such a way that they seem like they have been filmed in one pass by a camera.
This masters degree will take you from zero-to-hero, introducing you to both fundamental and advanced techniques of VFX using industry-standard software, as well as introducing you to the latest AI tools and Nuke's integration with Unreal Engine.
“Consumers who are increasingly looking for high-definition (HD) VFX experiences will have huge business opportunities in the VFX market in the next few years.” (source Expert Market Research)
