Further your understanding

If you’ve already completed the Postgraduate Certificate Systemic Thinking and Practice or you’ve passed an equivalent intermediate course accredited by the Association of Family Therapy, this course is the ideal next step for you.

Because it’s a part-time course studied over two years, you’ll have the flexibility to continue your professional development without taking a break from your career.

During your first year you’ll study the Postgraduate Diploma, which includes 38 weeks of weekly, live, supervised practice. During your second year you’ll focus on the MSc stage, which includes weekly live supervised practice as well as the development of a research project. The cost of live supervision is covered by your course fees.

Experienced teaching team

All of the teaching team work in practice and with over 15 years’ experience of teaching systemic psychotherapy, are keen to pass their vast expertise on to you. The course aims to synthesise theory, practice, and reflective skills as well as giving you a clear grounding in the development of research in the field.

Ethics, power and difference

We pay careful attention to ethics, power and difference; these themes are explored across all aspects of your learning. We aim to model key systemic practice ideas through teaching, and within the live supervised practice. You are also required to develop systemic practice in your own agency setting, so your workplace can be confident that they will benefit directly from your learning and development on the course. Graduates from this course have gone on to work in posts within health and social care, as well as private practice.
