Description:

International Business Communication (IBC) is the English-taught Bachelor's programme about effective communication in a multilingual organisation. An increasing number of organisations are going global. This calls for communication advisers with a keen eye for intercultural communication and a talent for foreign languages, such as English, French, German and Spanish. Becoming fluent in one of these languages and understanding the intercultural context of business communication gives our IBC graduates a competitive edge in the field of consultancy, communication management, communication research, training and education.

Why study International Business Communication?

  • Become an expert in intercultural communication & languages
  • Learn to communicate effectively in English, French, German or Spanish
  • Study a semester abroad to explore the culture of your chosen language
  • Experience small-group, interactive classrooms

What will you learn?

International companies operate across the globe. This brings various communication challenges for organisations. How do you avoid misunderstandings when communicating with people from a different cultural background? What is the best way to launch an advertising campaign in different countries? These are the types of questions you will address in the Bachelor’s programme in International Business Communication. In three year's’-time, you will also master one of the languages of your choice (English, French, German or Spanish). In practical language courses you will increase your proficiency. Furthermore, you will learn about the countries in which your foreign language is spoken by working on projects that address common challenges in international business communication. For example, by organising the promotion of an international trade fair, designing an advertising campaign in a foreign language or developing a marketing plan for a foreign start-up company.
