Description:

The second Call for applications for A.Y. 2020/21 will open in April 2020 for the course track 'Financial Engineering' only.

Brief overview of the course

Characteristics and objectives The program intends to build an Engineer with a strong theoretical and scientific background on mathematical modeling tools, as well as general physical and financial sciences, together with advanced engineering expertise. The successful student will acquire advanced skills in the field of mathematical modeling of physical or financial processes and, in particular, will be trained in the formulation, validation, and critical use of models and in the analytical interpretation of related results. The graduate will be able to effectively formulate complex engineering problems within a multidisciplinary framework, and transfer and discuss results with experts of different disciplines. Occupational opportunities The occupational opportunities for the graduates are related to innovation and advanced design, in particular for the development and validation of models and numerical solution procedures in one or more technological and scientific fields, and in economic and financial modeling, including risk analysis, trading, investments. The graduates in the Degree will be able to cover positions of high responsibility in research and development centers, consulting companies, public and private, in the advanced technological field of civil, environmental and industrial, engineering, information technology laboratories, financial institutions, banks, insurance companies, energy companies, or consulting firms. Entry requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields (e.g. Mathematics)
  • English language: B2 level (CEFR) or equivalent
  • Additional criteria (e.g. exam grades) for double-degree applicants
