Brief overview of the course

Characteristics and objectives This degree course, which is conducted entirely in English, provides students with an advanced level of education to pursue activities of a specialized nature in research and/or executive entry level positions at financial institutions, companies, government at local or national level, international institutions, which require advanced analysis capabilities of economic and financial phenomena. The student can choose between two curricula, Economics and Banking and Finance. The first curriculum , aimed at future economists, offers a rigorous training in economics, quantitative methods , applied and theoretical economics to work either in International organizations, public sector, corporations, or to continue their studies toward a Doctoral degree. The second curriculum develops expertise for banking and risk management, the development of financial functions in a company, with special emphaisis to the problems of small and medium-sized businesses. Occupational opportunities This Second Cycle degree course prepares the student for the pursuit of qualified activities of research and/or management in the realm of banking; insurance; brokerage and asset management; non-financial firms; consulting firms; National and international stock exchanges; supervisory authorities and the control of financial markets; governmet (national, regional, local) and public service. Entry requirements:

A minimum three-year undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Economics; Economics, Markets and Institutions; Accounting, Banking and Finance; Business Administration; Mathematics, Statistics and Finance is required. Applicants who do not have one of the above mentioned degrees can also be qualified for the MSc in Economics and Finance, if the core academic areas listed below are covered. The specific entry requirements below will be subject to evaluation also if you own one or more of the above listed degrees.

Fulfil specific entry requirements (core academic areas)

Your educational background will be subject to an overall individual assessment in order to establish whether the following core academic areas are satisfied:

1. Microeconomics and Macroeconomics 2. Quantitative methods for Economics and Finance (mathematics, statistics, econometrics) 3. Finance, Corporate Finance, Capital Markets, Banking

Additional requirements

The following options might be an asset to your evaluation: - GMAT, GRE - SAT - References - GPA (Grade Point Average)

Whenever necessary, the Commission may also ask candidates for an on-line interview.

English language: B2 level (CEFR) or equivalent
