As more and more businesses, governments and individuals expand and communicate across borders, the demand for clear and accurate translations is growing.

This Translation and Post-Editing of Technical Texts programme develops the translation, editing and proofreading skills needed to translate and localise specialised texts, including those relating to business, advertising, audiovisual and law. The programme has been awarded the European Master’s in Translation (EMT) Quality Label.

Students can choose to undertake an academic exchange at one of our partner universities in Cyprus, Spain, Poland, Italy, or elsewhere. Graduates of this programme pursue careers in the European Commission and Parliament, as well as in companies providing language services and as intercultural communication specialists in the media.

Programme structure:

This programme focuses on language skills, as well as technological knowledge, equipping students with:

• intercultural communication skills, creative thinking;
• translation, editing and proofreading skills, terminology management;
• proficiency in translation software, such as Trados, MemoQ, and various AI tools;
• professional growth through voluntary internships at institutions such as the European Commission, European Parliament, and European Central Bank.

Students can also participate in Translating Europe workshops, summer schools, and seminars in Brussels and Strasbourg. This programme provides the option to pursue translation and interpreting in the legal and medical fields, or to focus on translation from a second foreign language.
